A Message from Coach Lipkin

All -

I hope this message finds you well. Very hard to believe that fall is here already. Feels like we teleported from June to here. Fortunately, Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. This is in large part because of all the great lacrosse and training opportunities we have. I have outlined information about our strength / speed program as well as some fall programs being offered by Homegrown Lacrosse below.

Before digging into all of the information provided please note that none of this is mandatory nor will it impact your standing on the spring team in any way shape or form. Although I love lacrosse and play it year round, I strongly recommend that guys play multiple sports. Even with lacrosse / training opportunities 5 to 6 days per week, I still believe that cross-training and being a part of different communities and disciplines is what is best for young athletes. Please also note that in terms of lacrosse development no program, coach, trip or team can offer you what wall-ball and shooting on your own can.

We are also working on setting up some player and parent informational / boosters meetings for the fall. In the meantime please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything else I can help with.

Best of luck to everyone as you start the new year next week.

Sincerely,

Coach Lipkin

2. Homegrown Lacrosse Weeknight River Leagues, Sunday Back2Lax Program and Leadership Development Programs:

Back2Lax - combines progressive skill clinics with full and short field games. The program also provides a tremendous opportunity to take the field with players from across the Twin Cities. Players receive personalized instruction from Minnesota's finest coaches, collegiate players and mentors.

Each Back2Lax program consists of five, two hour sessions held every Sunday from September 9 to October 14 (OFF Sept. 23). All sessions are held at McMurray Fields in St. Paul.

Fall HS River Leagues - Provides an incredibly affordable and fun opportunity for kids to get out to play and learn. At each River League individual players are mixed with players from other high school teams to form league teams. Each team is coached by two Homegrown Lacrosse seniors staff members.

Each River League consists of five hour long games. Players also have team chalk talk sessions, warm-ups and strategy sessions before and after each game.
